Microsof company Office 15 technical preview begins
Microsoft is kicking heli-copter flight technical preview for it's microsoft project 2010 client, servers and cloud providers today, January 30!
A beta of all the same project professional 2010 deliverables will be available to the general public in "late summer, " according to a different post on the microsoft project 2007 Executive blog!
Microsoft officials are not commenting around the features in any part of Office 15; on the planned release-to-manufacturing (RTM) or even general availability date; or on whether the technical preview will incorporate a version of Office that will work on Windows 8 upon ARM! (I asked about most of these!) Update: Also, for those asking, we also have simply no idea on platform-support specifics - such as whether this preview additionally encompasses the rumored Company for iPad; and whether it has a separate non-touch-centric Office 15 update for anyone not using tablets/touch-enabled notebook computers!
I've heard from the contacts that Microsoft's goal would be to RTM Office 15 because of the end of calendar 2012! I've heard the Softies are wavering backwards and forwards between calling Office 15 "Office 2012" in addition to "Office 2013! " (If the product RTMs very late inside year, they may opt for the 2013 name!)
With Office 2010, July 2009 was the date from the tech preview release! November 2009 was the general public beta! February 2010 was your release candidate! Release to manufacturing is at April 2010, and general availability ended up being June 2010!
